Overview

This private three-day tour starts in Agadir, reaches the Merzouga dunes and ends in Marrakech, with no return to the coast. You set off around 07:00, sleep one night in a Dadès valley hotel and one at an Erg Chebbi camp, and cover roughly 780 km in a vehicle kept for your group.

What sets it apart is the first morning. Rather than the High Atlas, the road climbs the Anti-Atlas behind Agadir, village after Berber village, to Taliouine, the saffron town. Ait Ben Haddou follows when the timing allows, then the Valley of Roses leads to your hotel at the foot of the Dadès cliffs.

Day two is the desert approach: the Todra gorges, the Jorf palm grove, the fossil workshops of Erfoud and, at last, the camel walk out of Merzouga into the sand for sunset. On day three, after dawn over the dunes, the road swings west by the Draa, Ouarzazate and the Tizi n'Tichka, and Marrakech is reached by evening.

A good fit if you are ending a beach stay in Agadir and want the Sahara and an imperial city in a single move. Breakfasts and dinners are included, and the driver times the stops to suit your group.

Stop

A short morning leg takes you into the Todra gorges, between their sheer rock faces. The road then runs through the Jorf palm grove to Erfoud, a small town of fossil workshops. At Merzouga the car stays in the village and you carry on by camel into Erg Chebbi, reaching camp for sunset, a Berber dinner and music beneath the stars.

Does this tour come back to Agadir?

No. You leave Agadir on day one and are dropped at your accommodation, or another address you choose, in Marrakech on day three. Handy for moving from a beach stay to a city stay.

Why such an early start from Agadir?

Collection around 07:00 gets the Anti-Atlas climb done before the heat of the day; with Taliouine and the run to the Dadès, the first day is a long one.

Do we share the vehicle with other travellers?

No, this circuit runs only as a private tour: the air-conditioned vehicle and its driver serve your group alone, and photo breaks follow your pace.

Where are the two nights spent?

The first in a Dadès valley hotel, under the canyon walls; the second in a tent at an Erg Chebbi camp, reached by camel from Merzouga.

What do the meals cover?

Dinner and breakfast at both stops, the Dadès hotel and the desert camp. Lunches and drinks on the road are yours to pay, unless your booking states otherwise.
