Overview

Two hours through the Rif mountains stand between Tangier and the most photographed town in Morocco. This full-day trip does the drive comfortably and the destination properly: on arrival, a local guide leads you through the blue medina's history — the Andalusian refugees who built it, the kasbah that anchored it, the reasons (plural, disputed, delightful) it turned blue. Then the afternoon is yours: lunch on Plaza Uta el-Hammam, the climb to the Spanish Mosque viewpoint, or simply the alleys, which reward every wrong turn. We time the return so you catch the mountain light on the way down.

• Pickup is available from most hotels, private homes and Airbnbs in Tangier located in areas accessible by car. Participants should wait at the main entrance, where the driver will arrive in an identified vehicle and confirm the booking name. For accommodations in the heart of the medina where vehicle access is limited, pickup is arranged from a nearby central meeting point, usually Hotel Continental, Bab Kasbah or Grand Socco, depending on your location. Participants arriving by ferry or staying near the port are picked up at Hotel Continental. Please be ready at the main entrance at least 10 minutes before the pickup time confirmed by our team.
